Annual Report 2007/08 - To be presented September 2 at the Annual General Meeting
Meeting Summaries : by Ruth Marchant James(A regular Feature to keep members informed of developments at Council meetings) MAY 2008 In the absence of the President and Vice-President for the May meeting the Hon Secretary, Correspondence relating to questions raised about the commercial development on Victoria Quay in Fremantle was received from the Office of the Premier and from Ms Kerry Sanderson, Chief Executive Officer of the Fremantle Port Authority. The names of several interesting speakers were put forward for two future events, the AGM and History in the Pub. The former Leader of the Opposition, the Hon.Kim Beazley and author Glenys McDonald, who was involved in the successful search for the HMAS Sydney,have since accepted invitations to take part. Other future events also under discussion were the Christmas function and an Apology Day commemoration to be held on 13 February 2009. The State Library supports and has agreed to display the History Council.s Battye library questionnaire and to provide a collection box. |
