Dr Jean Chetkovich

Jean Chetkovich has served on the Committee of the History Council of Western Australia since 2005. In 2005-06 she was the convenor of the Professional sub-committee. In 2006 this sub-committee was subsumed into the Advocacy sub-committee which she now co-convenes with Sue Graham-Taylor. Jean stood down as Vice President of the History Council at the AGM in September 2008.

Jean completed her doctorate in history at UWA. Her research interests include migration, Irish-Australian topics, cemeteries and memorialisation of the dead in WA. She is the Director of the Centre for Western Australian History at UWA and the chair of the Editorial Board of Studies in Western Australian History.
