HISTORY COUNCIL ADVOCACY - Community Programs PREMIER'S BOOK AWARDS In 2004, the History Council advocated for a distinct category for History within the Premiers Book Awards. The Minister for Culture and the Arts, the Hon Sheila McHale championed the cause and funding was provided. Each year, the History Council arranges a Sundowner to highlight the winning entry for History and allow members to meet the authors and to discuss the work.
