Dr Sue Graham-Taylor AM,
President
Sue has a PhD in History from Murdoch University and has worked as a
professional historian and researcher for many years. Sue has undertaken historical research for government and industry, has published on
aspects of Western Australian history and politics and curated exhibitions. She was employed at
the Western Australian Museum as a History Curator and Acting Head of the History Department for around six years until August
2007. At this time she was appointed as the State Library’s inaugural James Sykes Battye Memorial
Fellow to work on The Swan River: the history of a community icon. Sue has recently returned to the Museum to work
onexhibitions for the
Albany and Kalgoorlie Museums.
Sue has been Vice President of the History Council since 2005 and became
President at the AGM in September 2007. She is a member of, and has chaired the Advocacy Sub Committee of the History Council for the past
three years.
Dr Graham-Taylor was awarded an AM in the 2010 Australia Day Hoours for
service to conservation and the environment through executive roles with a range of organisations, through the development of protective
measures relating to air quality and the management of waste, and as an historian.
