Congratulations The Kodja Place and New Norcia

The MA-ABC Radio National inaugural Regional Museum Awards were announced on 28 July and we are delighted that the overall national winner is a WA regional museum – The Kodja Place Visitor and Interpretive Centre, in Kojonup. (more ...)

Four Award winners were chosen in four categories:
Volunteer-run museums; small museums; medium-large sized museums; and Indigenous Keeping Places/Cultural Centres.   The Kodja Place won the small Museum category and New Norcia Museum and Art Gallery received a Highly Commended award in the Medium to Large Museum category.

The overall National Award winner was selected from these four category-winning museums.

Check out what the judges said about Kodja Place and the other winners at the ABC  website.

As part of their prize, Kodja Place will receive a visit from Richard Aedy, presenter of Radio National's Life Matters program, and will feature in a future edition of that program. It will also receive attention from the Indigenous arts and culture program Awaye!. Other winners will feature in a variety of Radio National programs during the year.

Congratulations again to Kodja Place and New Norcia, and well done to all those museums in WA that entered.
