Lise Summers, Councillor:

Lise has worked as an archivist, historical consultant for heritage research and as a local studies librarian. She has interests in the areas of medieval and European history, local and Western Australian history, and urban and environmental history, as well as cultural material heritage. She is currently employed part-time as a Senior Archivist at the State Records Office of Western Australia. Her work in the State Records Office means she is aware of the concerns of a range of historical interest groups.  In Semester 2, 2007, Lise was also an Associate lecturer at UWA,

co-ordinating the course on Western Australian History and Heritage.  Lise has a PhD in history from the University of Melbourne.

Lise has served on the Committee of the History Council of Western Australia since 2006.  She has worked with the Council to clarify issues relating to the lack of storage for the State’s cultural heritage collections, particularly the need for a new Archives repository.
