History Council of Western Australia Awards 2023
Nominations are now open for the 2023 History Council of Western Australia Awards.
The History Council of Western Australia Awards recognise individuals, organisations, groups and/or associations who have contributed to the impact and advocacy of history in Western Australia.
Impact, understanding, innovation and advocacy
Nominations are invited from individuals and groups, including professional historians and organisations, academics, teachers, students, teams, societies, publications, publishers and other organisations who have made a significant or innovative contribution to Western Australian history or its advocacy.
Individuals, groups and/or organisations may be nominated for:
an outstanding contribution to the understanding or impact of, or advocacy for, the history of Western Australia;
a significant contribution to the understanding or impact of, or advocacy for, the Indigenous history of Western Australia;
a significant contribution to the understanding or impact of, or advocacy for, local history in Western Australia;
an outstanding contribution to the teaching of Western Australian history;
an innovative project, published or unpublished work by an emerging historian;
an innovative contribution to understandings of Western Australian history, or its advocacy, by a student or students.
Closing date for nominations is 28 July 2023
Nominations should be submitted in a single Word or PDF file
to office@historycouncilwa.org.au with:
the attached nomination form;
a statement of up to 2500 words addressing the award criteria (see p.2);
supporting evidence, which may include copies of, or links to, project work, media or social media coverage, citations and/or publications; and
at least one signed reference in support of the nomination.
